J. Jankevičius invites to create a wave of good deeds: every week, do-gooders can win a cash prize.

The desire to help is a natural instinct of every person. However, the modern hectic pace of life often leads to paying less attention to the environment and people who truly need help. In order to spread the virus of kindness, the non-profit organization "Future Self Group" introduces the extraordinary "Good Deeds" initiative. Everyone participating in it can compete for a cash prize every week.

Attention to helping teenagers

Monika Okleiterienė, one of the founders of the non-profit organization "Future Self Group," explains that they started their activities recently, in 2022, but both she and her colleagues, who work together with her in the charitable organization, have always done good deeds.

"We constantly searched for ways to change the lives of those who have less. It is so important to inspire young people, broaden their horizons, and help them overcome life's obstacles. Gradually, we realized that we want to focus our activities on teenagers," recalls the spokesperson. Monika is convinced that the decisions made by teenagers often have long-term consequences, and dreams often collapse due to certain financial challenges or basic lack of self-confidence. "We know that there are many talented children and teenagers who want to learn and improve. However, sometimes theory sounds nice, but in practice, everything is a bit more complicated. Our organization wants to help these young people fulfill their dreams, especially those related to education and deepening competencies," notes the representative of "Future Self Group."

Long-term project with weekly prizes

This fall, "Future Self Group" announced an extraordinary project – the "Good Deeds" initiative. Monika states that together with her colleagues, they want to encourage other people to do good deeds. "Although our organization is related to children and teenagers, we invite not only them but also older people who can be a great example for the youth to join this project. The essence of the project is not only to do good deeds but also to share them. Although it is said that good deeds are done quietly, we think differently. We want to show that good deeds can spread like a virus of generosity, encourage others to get involved in the initiative – thus, we will create a wave of good deeds. We believe that every good deed, regardless of its size, can contribute to creating a better future," emphasizes the spokesperson.

And participating in this project is easier than easy: you just need to upload a story with a video or a photo with a description of doing a good deed to your Instagram account. It is important to mention "@futureselfgroup_lietuva" and add the hashtag #geridarbai. You also need to tag one or more friends whom you invite to join and follow @futureselfgroup_lietuva on Instagram. Monika notes that Instagram is a popular social network for teenagers, so getting involved in this initiative should be really easy for them.

Every Monday, the charismatic Justinas Jankevičius will select one participant by magic, to whom "Future Self Group" will award a 100 euro gift voucher, which can be spent on various goods in shopping centers, purchasing food, leisure, or electronics. "The opportunities to win are very high because the project will run until summer, and it will be crowned with awards for the most impressive good deeds," says M. Okleiterienė.

Famous comedian Justinas Jankevičius joined the project

Monika says that the comedian, television host, and event presenter J. Jankevičius joined the "Good Deeds" initiative not by accident. "He participated with us in the project 'Smėlėtos pėdos' held in the summer, where we took 40 children to the sea. During the project, Justinas sincerely listened to the story of each child, shared his own stories, engaged in all activities. That's when we realized that he is the person who has the ability to inspire others; his participation in projects not only involves but also encourages others to join," the spokesperson is convinced. According to Monika, 'Smėlėtos pėdos' is one of the largest projects implemented by "Future Self Group." "We wanted not only to show the sea to the children but also to expand their horizons, encourage them to set goals, inspire them to dream more and believe that those dreams come true," says Monika. "After this project, we helped some teenagers who participated in it to find jobs. We also funded the studies, courses, additional education, and a camp for several teenagers and a single mother who wanted to pursue a career as a social worker. Last year, we organized a Christmas project, during which we visited 75 children and gave them holiday gifts."

The representative of "Future Self Group" says that the "Good Deeds" initiative is certainly not the only one they believe will be successfully implemented. "We will continue to help children fulfill their dreams, especially those related to education and deepening knowledge. We will continue to finance studies, courses, camps, and other additional training," says M. Okleiterienė.

Much work has already been done, much is still to come.

The representative of the non-profit organization emphasizes that they not only carry out their own projects but also willingly join activities initiated by other charitable organizations. "Each organization carries out different projects: some help needy families, others help the sick, and others fulfill children's dreams or save animals. Therefore, we gladly join various initiatives and offer our help," she says. Monika emphasizes that she and her colleagues working at "Future Self Group" seek to create unity among charitable organizations, encourage their solidarity. For example, last September, they joined the action initiated by the support and charity fund "Gėrio trupinėlis" and bought school supplies for children from financially disadvantaged families. "I believe that we will reach an even larger audience and will be able to more easily spread the message about the importance of good deeds. We want to create a strong community united by people with similar values," says Monika, one of the founders of the "Future Self Group."
